Mr. Ritza is an Emergency Management Specialist at Magellan. He has a broad knowledge of emergency response on several levels. His previous firefighting experience and years of emergency response in fixed facilities provides a wide scope of incidents. Through his fire-fighting experience Mr. Ritza has a great knowledge of fire safety and prevention. As a fire fighter Mr. Ritza was also involved in medical emergencies. Mr. Ritza was the team leader of the emergency response team for his shift at i-Stat Canada and Nortel Networks. During his 4 years as a member of the Emergency Response Team Mr. Ritza experienced many different incidents in a fixed facility.
Emergency Planning: Mr Ritza has developed Standard Operating Procedures for the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Abbott i-Stat divison. Mr. Ritza has set up emergency response teams and provided equipment and training for several teams including Parmalat Foods. Mr. Ritza participated as an observer at the Bathesda Medical Centre NNMC, Suburban, NIH Mass Casualty Exercise in 2004. The scenario was a base wide simulated terrorist event designed to test medical readiness and response to multi-casualty event with potential radiation exposure. The exercise consisted of 75 casualties and involving many organisations. NNMC Staff/Decontamination Team, Suburban Hospital, National Institute of Health, NNMC Fire Department, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, NIH HAZMAT Response Team. Mr. Ritza has completed over 25 Infrastructure Continuity Plans and Over 50 Environmental Emergency Response Plans for PWGSC.
