CBRNE

Magellan is a world leader in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) counter terrorism prevention, preparedness and response. Our team is sought after both across Canada and throughout the world for its expertise.

The Netherlands government trusted Magellan’s capability when investigating measures to protect their country from the threat of chemical weapons on their transit systems. Magellan delivered a viable security plan that was implemented country-wide.

Magellan’s critical thinking and expertise in chemical weapons were invaluable in determining the fate of thousands of pounds of chemical weapons ammunition (CWAM) dumped on the ocean floor. Dozens of factors that could have affected the dumpsites were taken into account during the investigation of the possible harmful effects of the CWAM on both marine and human populations.

Our explosion modeling (Get Adobe Reader here) capabilities have been used in the design of blast mitigation measures for scenarios ranging from single rooms to multi-component areas of a city. Modeling allows us to be able to visualize the impact of any size explosive on a target and assess the probability of damage and injury.

Magellan is a leader in Force Protection and has developed numerous Health and Safety guidelines for high risk DND facilities. We have performed threat and risk assessments and have developed mitigation techniques to improve the safety of both government and private industry facilities. Magellan was called upon to design a decontamination room for the British Embassy’s mailroom facility and also to design blast mitigation for the Department of National Defence Headquarters.

We were the Health and Safety technical authority on scene for the Department of National Defence Legacy project. Our Team performed Health and Safety monitoring and planning for contaminated sites.

In partnership with ISR, Magellan is involved in country wide security design and implementation and other security related projects, as well as being involved with the National Counter Terrorism Bureau.

Numerous organizations, including Transport Canada and the Department of National Defence, have followed our CBRNE training program which teaches the participants how to prepare for and respond to CBRNE events with individually tailored training programs to suit each of our clients’ specific needs. This allows us to ensure maximum efficiency and safety should an event occur
